Welcome TO HOCKEY FOR HEART!

Hockey for Heart was created by Rob Weir after he saw his father, Roger Weir suffer a massive heart attack and die while playing in a shinny hockey game.

The tournament started out in Durham Region and grew from 4 teams in 1995 to 33 teams in 2008. Along the way the tournament has raised over $437,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Rob is extremely proud to see the tournament expand with tournaments in Barrie, Toronto and Hamilton! These tourneys raised an additional $85,000! Bringing our total since 1995 up to an amazing $522,000! Thanks to all our players, captains, volunteers and supporters who have helped us get to this level.

The Hockey for Heart Tournament action is not about to stop! We have 2 more tournaments coming up in the Fall of 2008 and many more in early spring of 2009. Check back here for more information on how to hold a team spot or email Rob Weir for more information. We are looking for recreational level teams who want to help fund raise for the Heart and Stroke and play some fun hockey. We also are thrilled to offer chances to play against some former Pros and the possibility to win a brand new car!
